Launched out
of Orange County, LA in 2002, Creative Recreation was founded by 3
individuals who were tired of the lack of style availability in the
market. They were either too dressy (suit & tie affair) or too
athletic (frowned upon in certain settings). None of the shoe
companies were catering to the young professional market that
desired shoes to be worn during the day and at night: a balance
between the dressy and the casual. Co-founder and Head Designer Rich
Cofinco, sums it up by saying, “We make shoes for our lifestyle, we
make shoes for life with style”.
The appeal for
Creative Recreation has grown with celebrities such as Usher and
Kanye West being seen in some of their premium designs. Having
exclusive contracts and collaborations with luxury department stores
like Barney’s NY and Holt Renfrew has garnered this brand the
attention it deserves. Introducing both affordable and premium
collections has helped Creative Recreation appeal to all consumers -
from those just wanting basic white low cuts to those looking to
spoil themselves with Italian-made cracked leather hi-tops, Creative
Recreation has helped bridge the gap of work and play.
